Here&...I was also at this show, and I was up front. Here's how it went down: Most of the crowd had never seen Serial Killers. Even though they were semi-local, New Brunswick and North Jersey had its own scene. Pleased Youth were on the bill, and everyone at The Court was very familiar with them. Serial Killers took the stage, and if I recall correctly, they all had black bondage masks on and also had matching Parisian tourist black and white striped shirts on. Their vibe was evil, something I hadn't seen the likes of before. They ripped through a set. I don't remember many details about the set, other than I remember the evil vibe. At the end of the set, a man in a raincoat approached the singer, as if he was going to attack him. Another gent ran toward the man in the raincoat and thrust a huge hunting knife into his gut. He, and about 6 people from the front of the crowd reached into the stab wound and proceeded to rip the raincoat man's guts out and throw them everywhere. They then tackled him and a satanic blood ritual sacrifice commenced. Violent, crazed gut-hungry male AND female fiends were reaching into the man's gut, ripping out sinew, muscle, and organs, and throwing them at the horrified crowd. At this point, the patrons were running in circles, knocking each other to the floor in a complete panic, running for the exits. Slipping and falling on the now blood and organ soaked concrete floor. Once I realized it was staged, and not an actual MURDER, I fucking went into hysterical laughter. I don't remember anyone hating them, as ChrisO has stated above, however, I remember everyone wanting to stab and disembowel Butthole Surfers for taking what seemed like 15 hours to take the stage.Dan-onoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1454171671561049999.post-53075691401298304262012-03-23T15:24:54.704-04:002012-03-23T15:24:54.704-04:00I saw them perform in the basement of an abandoned...I saw them perform in the basement of an abandoned frathouse in University City called the Crypt. It was the most dangerous show I've ever been to just because the venue was basically a tenement. There was empty beer bottles EVERYWHERE, trash -- not to mention lots and lots of drugs going on! The show began with the "Junior Miss Crypt Pageant" and ended with a bonafide riot when an audience member started touching Tim the Strangler's guitar while he was playing it. When my friends and I finally got out of that place, we blew our noses and all of us literally had black in the tissue from all of the dirt in that filthy house. Not the best show I ever attended, but definitely memorable!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1454171671561049999.post-8400735628382373412012-03-01T22:50:43.514-05:002012-03-01T22:50:43.514-05:00I was at this show, and remember the crowd fucking...I was at this show, and remember the crowd fucking HATING The Serial Killers by the time their set was through. This hate had little to do with the music.

The band threw meat out into the crowd, which got squashed into a meaty slime pulp all over the floor of the club by the stage. I bought a cassette of this in Philly when I was about sixteen years old. On breaks from school, when I'd come home to my desolate little Colorado cow-town, I'd tear around on the back roads, blasting this out the windows of my grotty white station wagon, and screaming along at the top of my lungs.

The tape wore out more than a decade ago, and I've been looking for it ever since.Victorianoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1454171671561049999.post-23419718121382705642010-04-14T18:46:59.422-04:002010-04-14T18:46:59.422-04:00Just to set the record straight I thought I'd ...Just to set the record straight I thought I'd correct a couple things. I mixed and produced both the album and the single, as well as managed the band, so this is basically as first person as you're gonna get. Frist of all, the album came out about 18 months before the single. And the band had a full stage show, albeit a bit more disorganized than Gwar and a bit Spinal Tap-esque at times than we all would have cared for. Nonetheless, in the band's four year run (Jan 1986-Jan 1990), they played Philly and the surrounding area more than 50 times and did two full US tours.the Kommandantnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1454171671561049999.post-75545800095719890352010-03-22T16:33:39.311-04:002010-03-22T16:33:39.311-04:00thanks! Firstly, the 7" was before the LP + it came with a sample of dirt from Heidnicks house. Second, they were contemporaries with Gwar and had a similar stage show like Gwar's, but Gwar was better organized and had a crew to give them support, while this band was just playing for fun and wasn't able to tour. Part of the act involved a fake abortion on stage and the singer would walk around with this fake aborted fetus and blood all over him. They were from Philly.mrpoopyhttp://glorifytheturd.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1454171671561049999.post-42155707644740500812010-03-21T18:23:32.383-04:002010-03-21T18:23:32.383-04:00link is broken.
