These dudes were from Hopewell Junction NY, and played a fast crossover style. I'm not really sure about the bands history other than the singer(Sean), who went on to sing in Collapse(New Breed Tape compilation), and later was the replacement singer for Life's Blood. I think he played two or three shows. This is a serious obscure classic here. Thanks to Charles for this one. Enjoy... and if you know anything about them, please leave it in the comment section.

  3. After Jason O'Toole left LIFESBLOOD , the band hired Sean P. Murphy to do vocals paying him in wheat gluten.

This incarnation of LIFESBLOOD only played one show.
A CBGB matinee on 9/25/88 with ABSOLUTION & SICK OF IT ALL .

Two tracks from the live gig are featured on the NEW BREED compilation.

After this gig - which was well received - Adam fired Murphy because he was an avid user of cannabis and insisted on writing lyrics in English.

LIFESBLOOD folded approximately a month thereafter and Sean P. Murphy and John Kricsciun (drummer) went on to form COLLAPSE
with Camillus 'Dead Guy' Peluso and Sergio Vega.

After extensive electroshock therapy and daily use of LSD , Murphy was able to overcome the horror of his experience in LIFESBLOOD although he still has occasional nightmares full of bad grammar.

  4. Thanks for the nice review. I played bass on the tape. You asked for history on the band. This is actually Leprosy MkII. We changed the name to Brawl after we put out this tape and released a demo under the name Brawl. This was a rehearsal tape recorded live on a 4 track with the vocals overdubbed. The original lineup was actually the classic lineup but broke up for awhile. Todd, Camillus and Will from the original lineup reformed with Sean on vocals and me on bass. These four songs are from the original lineup but with different lyrics and slightly different arrangements. Sean later went on to Lifesblood as he wrote about above and then formed the legendary Collapse with John from Lifesblood, Camillus and Sergio Vega who went on to Absolution, Quicksand, Deftones, etc. Will Dahl the guitarist works in the music industry and plays guitar for Harley Flannigan (from the Cro-Mags) in Harley's War. I don't have a copy anymore but if you can find a copy check out the demo from the original lineup of Leprosy- "Gangrene Intensification". That lineup was Todd on drums, Camillus on vocals and guitar, Will on guitar and Mike Grundy on bass. Mike went on to play in the Dover Boys.

  7. Hey Nate, this lineup played a handful of shows before we broke up. My favorite show was at the American Legion Hall in Albany in '88. Albany had a great hardcore scene! It was us (now named Brawl), Stillborn, Breakdown and Sheer Terror. Sheer Terror postponed at the last minute and Breakdown didn't show up (as they were known to do). Todd our drummer left to go back to a great Thrash band from Beacon, NY called Prime Evil and that was it. We only existed for a few months. Todd also played in a couple of other great bands- Implode and Dissolve. Todd put together a Myspace page for the original Leprosy lineup and he has their "Gangrene Intensification" demo on it. You can hear the original version of the songs with the original song titles and lyrics. Here is the link-http://www.myspace.com/leprosy86/music/playlists

  16. The thing I remember most about 1988 is two D.U.I.'s and two false pregnancy scares. Oh, and Youth Of Today.
