This is the Third ep by these Swedish punkrockers. Most purists are going to tell you they love the first 7" best due to its raw punkness...Me I love the metallic over tones this ep has. Don't get me wrong its still a pure hardcore punk masterpiece, but the production is so thick, and heavy that I think most metalheads will be able to handle this shit without thinking its to fucking punk. The band goes far beyond what many other Swedish bands are doing at the time. Another Band that refused to fall into the dis thing that was/is happening so heavily over there forever now. Sweden is known for its d beat crust masters, so its always refreshing to hear something that doesn't sound like everything else in the region.
I bought this one on a fluke. Driving across country when I was moving from S.F. back to New York in 1989. I had a little purple 1972 Gremlin that was filled with my records, a guitar, and some clothes. At any rate it took me 5 days to make the trip. I stopped in a record store in the middle of Omaha Nebraska, and saw this 7" in the used bin for .49 cents.

These dudes were from Sweden, and played some fast assed thrash that was quirky and weird. Lots of strange circus sounding jazz parts that most hardcore bands wouldn't have the balls to try, because it wasn't the "norm" within the mostly dogmatic thrash scene. All I can compare the bands weird parts to would be the likes of early Victims Family, Rhythm Pigs, and Die Kreuzen. Some of the reg thrash parts remind me of A.O.D. Its incredible to me even 20 years later that these guys had the ability to play this fast, so tight, and so oddly. Totally different then all the dis stuff from Sweden that everyone has been gushing about for years.
I was turned onto these guys by my older Albany Pal Roger Vandusen. He later sang in a band that I played in. The dude was into lots of German, Swedish, and Finnish stuff. He played me the RTs first release from 1985, and I was automatically searching for the bands other releases. Roger had a humongous European record collection, that most of us were in aw of in the 80's. He became pretty disgusted by punk and hardcore by 1992, and smartly dropped out. I ended up with all his Raped Teenagers stuff. Rog turned me on to so much good stuff. I left off song one, the instrumental, as I had a problem with the transfer. Enjoy.

DOM DÄR stench of decay 7" (1991)

1.revolution
2.stench of decay

Dom Där were from Sweden, and put out some great records(the first one in around 1983 I think). This is the bands 3rd release. On this ep The band plays a sludgy doomy crust style of hardcore/metal. Its really fucking heavy and depressing sounding. I'd imagine anyone who loves the likes of Amebix, or Hellbastard will go bonkers for this shit. Only two songs on this ep, but they are each almost 6 mins long. The packaging is really cool as the Sleeve folds out into 6-panel poster.
Got this one under the recomendation of a buddy/friend Brian who plays in Dropdead. I recall playing a show with his band, and was going through records at Neil Robinson's record table at abc no rio, and Brian commented on me needing to buy this record, so I did. Thanks Bri.

AXE WITCH visions of the past LP (1984)

1.visions of the past
2.give them hell
3.tonight
4.hot lady
5.stand up
6.heading for the storm
7.born in hell
8.time to live

These dudes formed in Sweden in around 1980. The band put out a full length before this one, and the Pray for Metal ep as well. Both are just great, and ground breaking metal records in many circles. Visions Is by no means up to par with either of those records, BUT is still great if you dig the NWOBHM sound. I think that Axe Witch early on were influential to bands everywhere, then with this record they sort of became influenced or went along with the flow of what was going on by those they had influenced... weird, right? Still a great record, and worthy of posting, and listening to. I've been listening to it for two weeks straight now, and decided to post it, because I think its been ignored, and pretty obscure compared to the early works of these Swedes. Great High pitched vox, the way metal was meant to be sung!
I bought these guys early records based on my love for Maiden, and of course the very metallic band name of Axe Witch. Can't argue with the fantasy art work either, it just screams metal. This is the last record I sought out by these dudes, as I was pretty much getting into the hardcore, and thrash metal stuff at this point.
Comment if you download this bad boy, as It keeps me motivated, and eagerly posting my music collection.

7. Extremely Bad Breath
8. Who Cares?

14. Just Another Metal Band
15. If You're Hardcore...I'm Not!
16. Old But Not So Wise
17. Dom Ljuger
18. A Case For Teddy

Classic crusty grind from Sweden. They featuring Per Thunel, the singer of 80's hardcore legends Protes Bengt. I later was in awe of meeting Per when my band toured through Sweden 17 years later (he took me to the Viking Museum in Stockholm.
I first heard F.C.'s from their split 7" with G-anx, If i recall correctly I ordered it from Blacklist mailorder , and was blown away by their experimental slice of metal/crust. They mixed elements of Raw Napalm Death, and early Swans together perfectly.
The cover of mean was eye appealing if you were a sick fuck like me, as it displayed a photo of the Swedish prime minister after he was gunned down in a pool of blood a year earlier. Enjoy...

SILVER MOUNTAIN-shakin brains (1983)

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

1 1789
2 Aftermath
3 Always
4 Necrosexual Killer
5 Destruction Song
6 Vikings
7 Looking For You
8 Spring Maiden
9 King Of The Sea
10 keep on keeping on

This could be filed in the NWOBHM category, but it goes far beyond that. It has elements of old hard rock as well. Fucking great obscure Swedish metal that's gone on to influence the likes of many a power metal bands (Rhapsody, Blind Guardian, etc), and had a bit of a Deep Purple, Rainbow vibe going with the heavy Organs and all. The guitars are amazing in a Malmstein/Blackmoore sort of way, while the songs are catchy and powerful with melodic high pitched singing ala "Lucifer's Friend" or something like that. I think my initial attraction to this LP was the song called Vikings, as I'm pretty obsessed with Vikings, and the culture.
The reason I'm so into it now is the 1972 vibe that it has going for it.
