I haven't updated the site in a while, because I've had some family shit that recently turned out tragically, and has just sort of made everything in my life that much harder to deal with.
This compilation LP is a very hard to find classic for sure. It was released on Heavy Metal Records(the Handsome Beasts, Witchfinder General, etc). Some of the bands went on to release ep's, LPs and so on... others just disappeared off into obscurity. This is a serious New Wave Of British Heavy Metal necessity, that has had me playing air guitar, and drums to it for years now. I've been blasting it in my man cave a lot recently. Great shit! The cover art is ridiculously amazing, and makes the record even that much better. My favorite tunes are by Metal Mirror, and Buffalo. The Metal Mirror song sounds so much like Motorhead, while the Split Beaver tune sounds a lot like a old AC/DC song. Enjoy, and let me know what you think.

    I'm sorry to hear of your recent misfortune, I just want to let you know that I'v had allot!! of bad things and lucky things happen in this past year to me too. Lots of life change and for what it's worth discovering and rediscovering such great stuff here takes me away in so many ways. gives me a spark of how I felt at 15 dreaming of shreading on stag.     hi there nate.ive been coming around your blog for sometime now.nice choice of bands! i have that issue of metal maniacs where "gloom" was reviewed.
    the cartoon page is hilarious.
    i was wondering if you still have some copies of that issue,i would like to have one.how much will it cost me??

    ha ha.. thats cool that you remember that. I actually got so many orders for that issue because of the review that I couldnt keep up. I think I sold 300, just based on that review. worst part was people were sending me money orders for $1.50 made out to gloom. ughhhh.
    I don't have a spare. Not even sure I have a copy of my own. I need to check.
    Gloom zine spawned Gloom records.

    This is a heck of a compilation, great bands all over the record, and a great closure with Witchfinder General. I can see myself headbanging with my air Flying-V (yes I even imagine the type of guitar)for a long time.
