SYSTEMATIC DEATH live pictures from May 2nd NYC

No download here... Just some pictures of one of the most godly Japanese bands of all time playing here Friday May 2nd in N.Y.C. This was truly a historic occasion. I found myself up against the stage, front row as if it were a Maiden concert in '83. Shit was punishing from start to finish, even with all the bass guitar tech problems. For these who aren't familiar with these guys they existed in Japan from 1983-1988. I first heard the thrash til' death comp that Pushead put out... that was it, I was a fan for life.
I'd have followed the band to Providence for their only other U.S.A. East coast appearance if I wasn't working on wedding plans with Wendy for June. I saw so many friends from all over the globe, it was insane. Only wish the dude(Louis) who was responsible for turning me onto this shit many moons ago could have witnessed this.

  2. nope, he sold and gave away all of his records in around 1992-1993. If this wasn't a sold out show I'd have contacted him to go with me...I'm sure he would still appreciate the shit.

  4. I've seen them in Leiden the Netherlands. Awesome gig. Their live set was much more diverse then their studio recordings. I liked it. Seein Red and Nightstick Justice were playing too. Both bands rocked hard too.

  5. My buddy Wedge said they kicked even more ass in Providence RI the next night. Wish I saw it.

Frankie... I love the Netherlands. Some of my favorite people ever are from there. I've spent much time there and played in Leiden before.

  6. yeah, all gigs on the east coast were pretty mindblowing, but the 2 shows in Providence were just a bit above the NYC one. less mistakes (honestly, they were a bit sloppy in NYC but their energy & POWER overcame that), and slightly different sets. i think over the 3 shows, the only songs they didnt play were "No Rental", "Read On Speed", "Step", and "T.O.K.I.O.".

ive seen Gauze. Now ive seen Systematic Death. debating who was/is better live is like debating whether sex with 3 girls is better than sex with 2 girls - moot point.

also, thanks again for your hospitality & good vibes. its been a while since we got to hang out & it was a great time had by all. best wishes to you & Wendy, and congratulations on the upcoming wedding. youre definately one of the good ones, my friend.

hope to see ya again soon, good sir!!
