Dom Där were from Sweden, and put out some great records(the first one in around 1983 I think). This is the bands 3rd release. On this ep The band plays a sludgy doomy crust style of hardcore/metal. Its really fucking heavy and depressing sounding. I'd imagine anyone who loves the likes of Amebix, or Hellbastard will go bonkers for this shit. Only two songs on this ep, but they are each almost 6 mins long. The packaging is really cool as the Sleeve folds out into 6-panel poster.
Got this one under the recomendation of a buddy/friend Brian who plays in Dropdead. I recall playing a show with his band, and was going through records at Neil Robinson's record table at abc no rio, and Brian commented on me needing to buy this record, so I did. Thanks Bri.

  2. Dom Dar ("in English = "Them [over] there" as in "Those People") was always a favourite of mine after hearing them through tapetrades as well as on the V/a Really Fast 3. It was actaully not until quite recently that I managed to track down their complete recordings but sadly not all of it is great I think.

Either way I always like to think of them (idiosyncratically) as belonging the same category of Swedish bands with G-Anx, Counterblast, Jesus Exercise and Filthy Christians...

In fact I heard Dom Dar before I even heard Amebix which may explain a thing or two...Janne from Dom Dar now plays in Warcollapse.

Also, Dom Dar was more important to me than any other band in becoming a vegetarian (when I was liek 14 ha ha ha)....

  5. This is by far the best Dom Dar material, way better than 'Machine's Way' and without the homophobia. I bought this at Orchid's first show and remember the joy of Orchid's demo and this 7"...

  6. you are right about the Amebix sound. This stuff has a heavy Amebix worship feel to it.

    I like it.

  7. Was Dom Dar homophobic? I recall in a song on Machine's Way the vocalist screaming "fucking faggots" but I never knew the lyrics to understand the context. Regardless, I'm not one to agree with the use of the word, period.
