I saw Psycho in Albany in 1989 with Sheer Terror and Stigmata. Pretty sure that when I saw Psycho these guys they had lost the singer, and were a three piece perhaps? I recall the drummer by this time was wearing a head phone set with a microphone that allowed him to sing and play drums at the same time. It was a weird thing to see a hardcore band do. I was sorta turned off at first when I saw them setting up, but once they started playing their wacky brand of fierce thrashcore I knew they were awesome. I bought their record at the show due to their speed and tightness. I recall the Troy kids who came to the show sorta standing there and not knowing how to react to Psycho.
After the show my friends who put on the show went to pay the bands, and were short the guarantee that Sheer Terror were promised. S.T. got pissed and started saying stuff like "Why don't we ask your mommy for the money". They got pretty demanding, and if I recall correctly drove my buddies to an ATM so that they could be payed what they were promised. The entire episode was pretty hilarious.
The second song on this tape sounds like a different band(different vox, and poppy sorta). The other songs are killer thrash songs that sorta remind me of Poison Idea vocally.
I left off the live side of this tape.

  3. hi Nate:

this was the lineup with Joe Glassman on vocals and the stuff was recorded in '83 or so. After he left (and he's still in the Erie, PA band the Assmen), they were without a lead vocalist for a few shows and then got Mega, who was on the Hosebags from Hell comp. After that, they became a trio and all did vocals. That's the current lineup that's been playing the past several years.

  5. they are still together and still doing shows. I saw them a few weeks ago. Charlie Infection (the drummer) runs fudgeworthy records and has put out vinyl from gonkulator, machetazo, and others.

then now have cody (witchtomb/bone ritual) on vocals.

  6. I remember the Sheer Terror slightly differently. Two of the members of the band (I think the guitarist and drummer) were really pissed that we couldn't pay them the amount promised and wanted to kick all our asses (this happened because some other kids put on a competing show with Token Entry that took a good share of the expected audience). But Paul Bearer and, I think, the bassist were understanding and put a leash on those puppies. We did give them all the money we had though, even all our personal money.

  7. Mike, you would know better than I do. I do recall you guys poking fun at the guitarists new dunks, saying they looked like $200 shoes(this was after all was said and done). This was still a great show, and the turnout was good as I recall as well.

you should really get your blog up and going again man. It was good.
