More under the radar German thrash metal from the late 80's here. These guys did not stick solely to the German thrash sound of their kraut brothers, Kreator, or Destruction. These dudes added lots of that famous bay area thrash style on this their 1st LP. Unfortunately the band only released one more record after this one. Think early Metallica meets Destruction, thats how I've always described these gents. The lyrics were always good, and based on punk hardcore type issues of the time... corruption, greed, war, drugs, corporations, etc.
I was turned on to these guys by this crazy junkie dude named Vince in SF, who ended up stealing a 1969 Gibson SG from me. I'm sure he is long dead by now, he looked like walking death in 1988. I felt sorry for him, as he'd sell his ass on Polk street to old men, so that he could get his next fix. I was naive and young, and had no idea this dude had such a serious problem until it was to late. I'd say eventually I was better off having him take the guitar, because in the end it was the last time I ever saw him, and I guess In a weird way I sorta had to pay to get him outta my life, right? At any rate I ended up with a small handful of his records that he would leave in a corner of my house in San Fransisco. Dude would come over like once a week, all tweaked out, get me stoned, then play my guitar for hours on end to his small pile of metal records. Looking back at it, the entire situation was amazing.

  1. Thanks for putting this one up. You'd think after hearing bands like Assassin, Kreator, and so on one would get tired of thrash.. But its not tiring at all! This band is simply amazing. I just finished listening to the first track and man the intensity and snarling vocals kicked my ass with a vengeance.

  3. This is a classic! There was a flexi-disc that came with Metal Forces magazine (I think) that had an unreleased song from the "Go And Live..." sessions. If I remember correctly it was called "And The Brave Man Falls". I'll check and see if I still have it, and I'll post it if I do.

  6. Dude, you are so right.A few years ago I ran into an old friend from school, and she had a sob story about all her friends stealing her CD's,and shit.So I agreed to let her take a shit load of mine,to burn, and RETURN.Well,I never saw her or my CD's(roughly 40)again.I never thought that maybe I paid to keep her out of my life.I guess considering the character she showed me,it was best that her presence in my life was not prolonged. Thanks, for the perspective.

  7. many thanks for this and the other stuff you posted.

i've ran into some dudes like this guy you mentioned, it's fucked up how they just care about their next fix, but at the same time its sad to see a friend in this situation, and how little we can do to revert this...i mean, you can't force a dude to stop doing drugs

well, rant over (i'm not even sxe myself ha, who am i to say anything)

    cheers

  8. Sorry... no junkie tales, but here's a link to the Sabbat/Vendetta flexi from Metal Forces. As I stated earlier, the Vendetta track is called "And The Brave Man Falls". I'm pretty sure it's on the CD version, but since we're dealing with vinyl, here it is: Sabbat-Vendetta Flexi.rar (11.35 MB)

  12. Hey wreckme: Their 2nd album "Brain Damage" is great too... slightly more melodic maybe, but just as good as "GAL... SAD". I think they may have reformed recently and released something new, but I haven't heard it.

  13. went to see Judas Priest with my friends Artie and Will last weekend. On the way out to Jones Beach we sawa flea market and stopped. There were some records there. In one dudes crate i found 4 copies of this LP, all $1 each. I made artie and will buy one, then I bought the other two, gave one to my pal Ron, and saved the other as a spare. fucking long island...4 Vendetta LPs? weird...

  14. Nate do you have the copy(s) with the fucked up tracklisting on the label??

"Go And Live.." is listed as the 3rd track and misspelled as "Go And Life..Stay And Die". And "Traitors Fate" is missing and in its place is a phantom tune called "Mortal Sin", listed 2nd..

  15. dude... you are a bigger nerd than me.
how rare is the messed up label arts version?

  16. hahahaa. I have no idea how rare it is. I just happened to notice this the other day. I actually kinda figured maybe all the Noise pressings were like that, but I have no way of knowing. Thought i'd ask you since you have one AND a spare,,

  17. This is pretty nasty. All I've been doing the past couple weeks is listening to old thrash and crossover stuff, this is one of the best I've found.

  18. I absolutely LOVED these guys: Brutal thrash--raw, yet polished, with plenty of curve balls! Brain Damage is not bad, either.
