White Pigs were from Connecticut, and played shows, and recorded this awesome raw punk ep in 1984. The band originally formed in 1980 out of the ashes of Zak at the Soda Boys. W.P.'s had many, many line up problems right up until their demise in 1989. The band went from playing aggressive hardcore punk, that at times reminded me of the Abused, or Antidote to thrash metal with double kick drums, and solos. No idea what these dudes were thinking at the time. The metal version of the band released an LP on the combat bootcamp series. This ep came out on Switch Kwilson and is perfect in my opinion. Its been said that only 400 of these exist. I've No Idea, as the band members are still squabbling on mssg boards and web sites. Please leave a comment if you download. Its a positive part of doing this blog, the interaction with people. thanks.

Wow, Thanks alot man. I have two different demos by these guys but never had the EP. I stumbled across this site a while back and love it. Oddly enough I lived at Fell and Broderick(across from the old C2D house) from 89-92 then on to various places around the Western Addition. I would really like to download the Sacrilege BC demo but the rapidshare shit never works!?? Just the mediafire downloads work. I have a pre clown alley demo if interested.
ReplyDeleteDr. Phibes~
ReplyDeleteI lived at 603 fell street from 1985-87.
try the rapidshare...hit free, then wait whatever time it says...it should still work.
what was the pre clown alley band?
Nate
damn! you were not kidding. The vocals really do remind me of the Abused from NYC. This has got me wanting to hear the 12"
ReplyDeleteSlim
some members from Violent Coercion went on to form Clown Alley from what I remember.
ReplyDeletehmm... violent coercion went on to form Neurosis (at least 2 members did any way).
ReplyDeleteI have that demo some place from a friend in sf.
Ahh..yer right!! sorry about that.
ReplyDeleteGreat post Nate, some good angry hardcore is what I like to find on my computer first thing in the morning. Nice rip too, had my cheap speakers crackling.
ReplyDeletethanks for this, i have the demos too- great stuff
ReplyDeletehaven't downloaded yet, but wanted to chime in and say hello and thanx for posting all this good stuff. been lurking for a while.
ReplyDeletealso would you care to trade links?
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of hardcore punk and I gotta say this shit is great! Thanks for putting this one up. BTW is there any way of getting the gammacide link working?
ReplyDeleteMike
ReplyDeleteI'll see what I can do, though I'm sorta letting these older rapid share links die out.
If I can find my demo by them I'll throw that up, its pretty intense. I love the bands "vision"...totally cool.
Justin, i love to rip stuff from vinyl, and hear the pops and crackles. Makes me smile while I'm air drumming, and listening to this shit in my car on mp3. thanks for checking back in. Nate
great post
ReplyDeletethanks...
anything compared to the abused is alright in my book
Ben.
Dude I love vinyl rips too. If you listen to stuff on my site you get tape hiss too. On this one my speakers weren't crackling because of the vinyl but because I had the volume all the way up. I can't wait to get at the new stuff you have posted.
ReplyDeleteThanks Great Post... I've been looking for a decent rip of this one for a while now. A hardcore classic.
ReplyDeleteKeep em comin!

Thanks for this Nate.
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of the metal stuff you put up. But you are really turning me on to a lot of great old hardcore and punk stuff. Something I often neglected back in the day, with my UG metal fixation.
It is very much appreciated. Also, thanks again for that Gang Green album, you Emailed me. That was eight months or year ago probably now.
Have you ever read Canadian Assault fanzine?
Cheers,
Dale
Great album. Good hardcore punk but wish dropout and kill kop was longer. I want to find more shit like this but is sometimes hard to find. Looking for a good band that sounds Poison Idea like. Any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteDUDE SO BRUTAL. ACTUALLY ME, MOBY AND BILL CHAMBERLAIN ALL AGREE THAT THIS IS OUR FAVORITE RECORD. RAY CAPPO SAYS ITS HIS SECOND FAVORITE. HE SAYS HIS NUMBER ONE IS ANYTHING BY THE GHETTO BOYS. I NEED A THIRST BURSTER.
ReplyDeletei've never heard of these guys, but all the comments are positive and they're from connecticut. so i'm grabbing it! thanks for the up!
ReplyDeleteThank you sir!
ReplyDeleteGreat ep! Thank you sir.
ReplyDeleteFUCKING RIGHT MAN THIS SHIT MAKES YOU WANNA MURDER!
ReplyDeleteWhere can I get the Munsters theme?
ReplyDeleteI own this record! I payed 15 dollars for it at Dr.Strange records. The dude at Dr.Strange said that it is rare. I love the White Pigs..Great band.
ReplyDeleteThe White Pigs demos are the best someone should release those on vinyl that would be a Killer!
ReplyDeleteGlad you guys like. I played guitar on this one. Brian, our singer, went a little hog-wild on the echo for the short thrash pieces, which were kind of parodies of the major hardcore themes championed by bands like MDC. I still have the original drawing for the cover, done by my roommate Barry Lavoie. Cheers, CD
ReplyDeleteWhite Pigs Munsters Theme is an all time metal classic, if you ask me, a favorite of the late Earl Root of Minneapolis, hosted longest running North American radio show until he died in cancer in 2008. He fronted the original Core Metal band Disturbed, that's MPLS, NOT SHITCAGO
ReplyDeleteNEED YOU TO RE UPLOAD THIS PLEASE!!!!!
