Okay, the deal with this tape is that Its what was sent to me when I ordered the bands 1st demo(the 1986 tape). That was reviewed in maximum rock n roll in around 1987, and I needed it. Whomever did the mailorder stuff for C.M. back then sent me this 4 song demo instead, saying that the 5 song 7" would be out in a few weeks, and they weren't selling the first demo anymore (that this demo was newer, and more current, recorded in the same session as the 7"). I was bummed, but later lucked out scoring the 1st demo when Joel (the second bass player)gave me a copy at Gilman Street. I'll post that one someday, its fucking great.
Corrupted Morals played the perfect fusion of thrash metal and punk. Trotting metallic guitar riffs with political lyrics that were sung in a nerdy punk sorta way made this shit some of my favorite Bay Area music ever. Members over the years included Larry L from Possessed, and somebody that is in Green Day as well. I ripped this from the original tape this past weekend, and it Sends shivers up my spine to listen to this stuff, and recall the live shows.

  2. awesome! i love corrupted morals and didn't know a 3rd demo existed. why isn't there a discography cd from them yet?

  3. yeah, I agree there needs to be a proper discography(i'd love to do it). I guess the fact that lookout was involved in them might have something to do with the other stuff not coming out. I love almost everything these guys ever did.
The cheese it LP isn't as good as any of the earlier stuff, but I even still find it listenable.
I'll post the 1986 demo sometime in the future.

  8. I was involved with CM for many years! Yeah, we did lots of meth. Many lineup changes. Larry LaLonde (Primus) played with CM briefly. Before CM they were a metal band called Desecration. Rick Morgan came aboard, the song structures changed, and voila!! CM!! Alter-ego band was Crummy Musicians. CM was amongst the original Gilman St. Project bands. CM did one U.S./Canadian Tour. Last time I saw Rick, he was meth-free! Joser (drummer) played with Big Steamy (SF). Larry went on to Primus fame. They need to re-unite and play one last gig!! --Derreck S.

  10. I grew up with CM! Yeah, we did tonz of meth! Band started as a metal band (Desecration), Rick Morgan came aboard, the song structures changed and voila! CM! Lots of lineup changes. We were one of the original Gilman St. Project bands. Did one U.S./Canadian tour. Alumni includes Larry LaLonde (Possessed/Primus). During the end, band started playing psychedelic punk. Last time I saw Rick, he was meth-free (yay!). Joser (the drummer) was playing with Big Steamy (SF). Alter-ego band was Crummy Musicians. I miss my friends very much and hope all is well with them up in the Bay Area. --daWreck

  11. Dude...your foreman is Rik from CM??? christ! have him check out the blog and get in touch.
If they ever reunited for a show I'd fly out from Brooklyn for sure. One of the most important hardcore bands besides RKL for me in my days growing up in the Bay Area.

Everyone was hooked on meth back then...

  12. I was in big steamy with jose. I spoke with him a few years back he still lives in the bay area. I think he mentioned there was a CM reunion show at 924 gilman. BS was around in 1993-95. Dan from CM came a few practices to jam. I think he moved to the mid-west, but I havent seen him in 14+ years. I got some other CM songs if you want them.

  15. Alright, here's the scoop. I was the original guitarist and main songwriter for cm and pre-cm desecration (ray sebastian). Original members were me and Dan Boland (guitars), Joel Wing (bass), Jose Mariscol (drums) and Rik Morgan (vox). Everyone was is desecration except Rik (Bob Yost was vox). Jose came after the desecration demo where Mika Sus (possessed) played. We did "think about it" first (not incl the desecration demo), then "chet". "Turn it around" took songs from chet. Joel bailed and Roman played bass). I bailed, then Larry (AFTER possessed) played while also playing in Primus. Then the other eps came out "cheese it" and "crummy musicians" stuff. Thanks for the post, I don't even have that demo anymore, but prob can find some practice tapes.
