There were so many heavy metal bands called Mayhem in the 80's that it was pretty hard to keep track of, but we are all pretty familiar with Norway's Mayhem. Well This is the United States Mayhem featuring dudes from the Wild Dogs. The band played some speed metal that was heavily influenced by punk at the time. Recording cover songs by the likes of Motorhead, and the Doors. This is another LP that I was sorta tricked into buying due to its great cover art. The record was pretty limited and came out on Black Dragon records from France.

  1. a bit of trivia: Thee Slayer Hippy of Poison Idea was in this Mayhem and played drums on this album.

  2. They also had tracks on Metal Massacre VI (Metal Blade) and Speed Metal Hell II (New Renaissance). The former comp featured a different vocalist, Nick Damis.

  5. YEASH actually I was the only one from wild dogs onthis great record
the other wild dogs are so NOT punk or thrash they wouldnt come anywhere near this type of set..I AM an original punker.. and spekain of poison idea i taught pig champion his first guitar chords and was a longtime friend and fellow music partner since 1978
drummer thee slayer hippie is now serving a 3 year stint for armed robbery of a pharmacy and last time i saw him there was no way he could physiclaly play drums... which is a great loss to music in general he WAS AMAZING!
and one of the first wild dogs fans at age 11
id love to have THIS band reunite check me out.. i stillhave a wild dogs lineup and dr mastermind.. but this mayhem shit kicks ass
